  • ArtLab 18

    At the thirteenth edition, ArtLab 2018 proposed two main events and five satellites events on a route throughout Italy and beyond the Alps at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.

  • ArtLab 17

    Territories, Culture, Innovation.

    The edition of 2017 had the goal to strengthen the role of ArtLab as a permanent National laboratory for innovation. With a total of 67 sessions, over 1400 people participated, adding up to a total of 1609 attendances to the 4 events, mainly coming from the direct and neighbouring surroundings of the cities hosting ArtLab. 2017 concluded with the participation of a large delegation of ArtLab to The Arts+ in Frankfurt, a festival dedicated to the creative industries.

  • ArtLab 15. Territories, Culture, Innovation.

    Lecce 23-26 September 2014

    An edition devoted to the enhancement of the public heritage. Representatives from more than 40 public and private organisations, foundations, banks and cultural organisations convened to address the themes on the agenda, and from the discussion emerged a breakthrough idea: what determines the actual value of the public heritage is its usage value – not its financial value – that is to say, its potential to serve as a growth opportunity for the territory and the community.

    Lecce 24-27 September 2014

    Four busy days of discussions, in-depth analyses and networking. New ideas and proposals to see cultural design in a new light, as an activity to be carried out in parallel with the development of a territory, and to attract a larger audience.

    Lecce 24-28 September 2013

    Culture is an innovation factor for a territory and it is in itself a “territory” that needs to innovate to establish new ties with the local communities. ArtLab 13 developed along three lines: innovation and sustainability, smart cities and social innovation.

    ArtLab’s second edition in Lecce focused on the analysis of strategies and nodes towards a sustainable, social, civil growth of the territories.
    A challenge in which art and culture can, actually should, have a role.

  • ArtLab 11. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Lecce 22-24 September 2011

    In Lecce, ArtLab 11 experienced for the first time the transition from a conference type event to a rendezvous open to the world of enterprises, social actors, citizens. The aim: provide answers to the many questions about culture and territorial development.

  • ArtLab 10. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Torino 1-2 October 2010

    The conference focused on the ever greater role taken on at national level  by the regions in the field of the performing arts.  Attention was devoted to accessibility, social enterprises between cultural production and welfare, the landscape as a resource for territorial development.

  • ArtLab 09. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Torino 18-19 September 2009

    At ArtLab 09, Alessandro Baricco, other artists and cultural operators engaged in a debate with representatives from the political and financial spheres, private entrepreneurship and the third sector. The topic: the renewal of politics from the perspective of a relaunch of cultural entrepreneurship.

  • ArtLab 08. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Torino 26-27 September 2008

    In 2008, the keyword was “innovation”. The themes addressed: net worth and recognition of the juridical personality… of whom?, access to credit for the cultural organisations, supply and demand for art and culture in small and medium-sized towns, artistic creation and cultural work to build up identity and citizenship.

  • ArtLab 07. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Torino 21-22 September 2007

    The main theme addressed at ArtLab 07 was the legitimisation of arts and culture in society. The discussion centred around leadership in cultural organisations, stakeholder management, fundraising, networking, relationship between territorial marketing and culture, generational turnover in Italy’s cultural institutions.

  • ArtLab 06. Dialogues about cultural management.

    Torino 22-23 September 2006

    The first edition of ArtLab revolved around the relationship between cultural management and educational opportunities. The most critical aspects of this relationship were identified through an analysis of educational needs in different spheres: culture and local development, contemporary art, museums, entertainment and the performing arts, festivals, cultural centres, artistic projects and the territory, cultural industries, the public administration.
